Now Booking: Live Piano for Your Party in Tampa Bay

For years the piano playing I did outside the studio stayed inside two rooms: the recital hall at Piano Distributors and the practice rooms at USF. Both are places where I play for people who already know me. This fall I am changing that. I am now booking private events in Dunedin, Clearwater, Palm Harbor, Safety Harbor, Tarpon Springs, and across Tampa Bay, and I want my studio families to hear it from me first.

What I play

Four kinds of evenings. Background piano for a cocktail hour, a dinner, or a reception, where the music fills the room without taking it over. A sing-along, where everyone ends up leaning on the piano for soul, Motown, oldies, and the standards. Holiday party piano in December, which is the one people ask me about most. And house concerts, an hour of Chopin and Liszt in someone’s living room with stories between the pieces, which is the thing I have wanted to do for a long time.

Why now

Two reasons. The first is the master’s program at USF. Studying performance seriously again means I am playing more and better than I have in years, and it seems a waste to keep that in a practice room. The second is my students. I spend every lesson telling them that the point of all this work is to play for people. It is fair that they see me do it too.

Here is the end of the Liszt I played at our fall recital in September, in front of the families who were there that afternoon.

How to book

Everything is on the new Event Pianist page. If you have a date in mind, text me at 727-625-0624 with the date, the location, and a rough guest count, and I will send a quote the same day. You can also use the quote form on my Contact page. An acoustic piano is ideal, and if your venue does not have one, I can bring my own.

Lessons stay the main thing I do. This is the other half of being a pianist, and I am glad to finally be doing both.
